Health Care Information Resources: AIDS Links
http://www-hsl.mcmaster.ca/tomflem/aids.html

As the Head of Public Services in the McMaster University Health Sciences Library in Hamilton, Ontario, I have a professional interest in making health care information resources on the Internet and the World Wide Web (WWW) accessible. You can access information about the Internet or the WWW by clicking on either of the highlighted links in the previous sentence. Since the Health Sciences Library serves schools of medicine, nursing and rehabilitation sciences (in the Faculty of Health Sciences ), and since we are located in a major teaching hospital (the Chedoke-McMaster Hospitals , part of the Hamilton Health Sciences Corporation ), I am often able to make the resources I use for my clients available to a broader audience of non-professionals (patients, sometimes, and their families and friends) interested in health and health care, through the creation of this web page: Health Care Information Resources.

The Sensible Guide to using Complementary Therapies for HIV
http://www.interlog.com/~akash/
My view of healthcare is slightly different from the western perspective. I grew up in Malaysia, of South Asian descend. My father was a Naturopath and my mother had a strong sense of herbalogy and spirituality, thereby setting the holistic path early on for me and my siblings. I remember nutrition, home remedies, internal and external body cleansing, prayers, meditation, and exercise as part and parcel of our growing years. We were brought up to respect the body as a temple and not to pollute it. I can say with much comfort we adhered strongly to the Hippocratic motto, " Let food be your medicine, and medicine your food." I am immensely grateful to my parents for setting the foundation for holistic healthcare.

I have over 15 years of personal experience and knowledge of health issues. Therefore, I believe I can productively contribute a viewpoint to those who seek alternative approaches to healthcare. In addition, a few good friends and family encouraged me immensely. I have lived healthily, in a holistic manner, with HIV for 10 years without falling into the usual pitfalls of the disease. It is my personal belief that life is too precious to waste on anger, self-pity and blame.
